Prost! A Weekend of Cheers at Roundhouse Brewery Oktoberfest 2023

You've probably heard the saying, "You can’t buy happiness, but you can buy a beer at Oktoberfest, and that’s pretty much the same thing." Well, we couldn't agree more. Live polka music, German food, lederhosen, and of course, beer – it's the recipe for a perfect weekend. This past weekend, we had the pleasure of kicking off fall by heading to Roundhouse Brewery in Nisswa, MN, for their two-day Oktoberfest celebration, which took place on September 22nd and 23rd, 2023. Here's a glimpse of the good times and great cheer we experienced at Roundhouse Brewery.

A Toast to Gemütlichkeit:

"Ein Prosit der Gemütlichkeit" – a toast to cheer and good times. That's precisely what Oktoberfest is all about, and Roundhouse Brewery captured this spirit perfectly.

Friday Festivities:

On Friday, we made our way to Roundhouse Brewery, eager to dive into the festivities. While we've frequented Roundhouse for their fantastic beer, axe-throwing, food, live music, and events, this time, we were in for a special treat – Oktoberfest!

The Highlights:

  1. Authentic German Buffet: The food at Oktoberfest was nothing short of amazing. For a mere $18, you could load up your plate with two entreés and three sides, or opt for a half plate with one entrée and two sides for just $10. The menu boasted mouthwatering options, including Chicken Schnitzel, Jagerschnitzel, Sauerbraten, Sausage & Kraut, Jagerspaetzle, and an array of side dishes like Kartoffelbrei, Kartoffelpuffer, Gurkensalat, Spaetzle, Speck Bohnen, and Swabien.

  2. German Pretzels: Let's not forget the must-have German pretzels – a true Oktoberfest staple! These delicious, doughy treats were available for purchase and paired perfectly with the beer.

  3. Sweet Treats: If you had a hankering for something sweet, Oktoberfest at Roundhouse didn't disappoint. They offered delightful German Chocolate Cupcakes for purchase, a perfect way to satisfy your sweet tooth.

  4. The Beer: Ah, the star of the show – beer! We had the pleasure of savoring Roundhouse Brewery's Der Zug Oktoberfest Beer, a brew that perfectly complemented the festivities. Prost to that!

  5. Live Polka Music: What's Oktoberfest without lively music and spirited sing-alongs? The Mellow Fellows provided a fun atmosphere with their catchy tunes. "Ziggy, Zaggy, Ziggy, Zaggy, Oi, Oi, Oi!" – it's safe to say that the music had everyone entertained.

  6. Indoor and Outdoor Enjoyment: Rain or shine, Roundhouse Brewery had it covered. With both indoor and outdoor seating available, we had the flexibility to enjoy the event, no matter what Mother Nature had in store.

Conclusion:

In the end, Roundhouse Brewery's Oktoberfest was a blast! If you haven't had the chance to attend this celebration before, make sure to add it to your list for next year. And if you've never visited Roundhouse Brewery, be sure to stop by for some exceptional beer and check out their live music schedule – they know how to throw a party.

Prost to good times, great beer, and unforgettable memories at the Roundhouse Brewery Oktoberfest 2023!
