To get there, simply head west from Highway 371 on County Road 77 in Nisswa, towards Lake Shore. Follow the signs from Cass County Road 78 at Bar Harbor, turn right, and then another right onto Ridge Road. This route leads directly to the park’s ample parking lot, positioning you right at the gateway to nature’s wonders.

The park itself covers 80 acres of rich, verdant landscapes, ready to be discovered. Our personal experiences hiking through Fritz Loven Park have been nothing short of magical. The main trail loop, extending roughly 2 miles, offers an easy-to-follow route that takes about an hour to complete at a leisurely pace. This includes time for plenty of stops to soak in the ecosystem around you—from the canopy overhead to the wildlife rustling in the underbrush.


As you wander along the trail, which winds beside a charming brook, prepare for a moderate adventure. The path can be damp and occasionally muddy, demanding sturdy footwear and a readiness for a bit of a muddy trek. Some areas of the trail are hilly, adding a mild challenge to your hike.
