We made the quick hop over to the 10th Annual Breezy Point Aviation Day on May 3rd—and wow, what a scene! Planes flying in, vintage aircraft up close, and nothing but blue skies at the Breezy Point Airport. This event had it all: aircraft cruising overhead, fire trucks and EMS vehicles for the kids (and let’s be honest—us), and even a classic car show that had us taking a few extra laps through the lineup.
This free community event is everything we love about spring in the Nisswa Lakes Area—fun for the whole family, good eats, great people, and of course... AIRPLANES!
From families pushing strollers to aviation buffs comparing plane specs, the crowd was just as fun to watch as the aircraft. We wandered through a mix of old-school taildraggers, sleek little jets, and custom-painted planes. (There was an old school A&W plane, see photos)
Add in the collector cars, pilots chatting with visitors, and the low hum of propellers in the background—it turned into a full-on spring celebration. This is one of those events you don’t want to miss, and if it’s not already on your calendar, go ahead and slap it on your “Don’t Miss This Next Year” list.
We snapped a lot of photos while we were there—check out some highlights below.
